The Shin Captain Tsubasa TV started being shot in 1989, Osamu Sekita was the director. Osamu Tozuka wrote a soundtrack for the anime. 13 series were released all in all, each lasting for 30 minutes. Like the manga, the anime is filmed as a tournament.
