The Touch: Are kara, Kimi wa... - Miss Lonely Yesterday - special was based on the manga Touch by Mitsuru Adachi also known for his works Katsu!. Gisaburo Sugii was the director. Mitsuru Adachi began working on it after finishing Katsu!. The music is written by Hiroaki Serizawa who also wrote music for Nine special. Like the manga, the anime is filmed as a romance.
